ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

My images are a photographic journal about relationships … the connections that I observe and experience in all aspects of human, animal, and environmental life. Texture, color, shape, and light are key in detailing my visual narratives.
I have an inherent curiosity about people, animals, places, and things which fuels my desire to explore a broad range of photographic imagery. It is often the detail in a scene that draws my eye and captures the essence of the subject.

Photographing animals is a particular passion for me ... whether in the wild, on ranches and farms, or in the home. I am interested in how trust, comfort, protection, habit, and love influence connections to other animals, people and place. |
 |
Another passion for me is the use of detail in environmental imagery to portray natural or man-made relationships. The depiction of detail frequently creates photographic abstractions. This image depicts a peeling ceiling and connects the viewer to the feeling evoked by the texture of the peel. It is also an abstraction in its own right. |
My photographic explorations open intellectual and emotional pathways, expanding self-awareness and knowledge about the larger environment. It is an ongoing journey that is enriching and rewarding for me, and I hope, for those who join my visual story.
